When the lace is used as fashion

During the second half of the 19th century, spectacular lace dresses were often produced. The Costume and Lace Museum has many pageantry dresses in its collection which were created using various techniques developed in Brussels. Lace was often used to embellish the parasols and fans of elegant ladies.
